Meet Our Donors

Dr. Mary J. Meehan
“As the president of a women’s college I know well the advantages of a Georgian Court education—a university that prepares graduates to think critically, act decisively and ethically, and lead lives of effective citizenship through the Mercy core values. By making an estate gift I feel I am making an investment not only in a student, but in the future of our community.”

Georgian Court University continues to be a surprisingly important part of my life, even after 38 years. I live in California, so I do not have an opportunity to participate in the various activities. But I look forward to the alumni magazine and review it with pride and enjoyment. GCU has changed significantly in the past few years. Students now have a wide choice of academic pursuits, and the college has become a university. I would hardly recognize it now, and yet I think I would always be able to recognize the core that is Georgian Court University. I got a good, solid education. It is for this reason that I not only give annually, but I have also named GCU in my estate. I have provided for my family first and foremost, but I have also named GCU as a beneficiary because I want it to continue in the tradition that I came to love and admire.
